Small Business SEO & Google Business Profile in Seattle & beyond

A website only helps if customers can find it. We set up and maintain the pieces that make small businesses visible in search.

Many Seattle small businesses have a setup problem more than a search problem. The website exists, but Google was never properly told about it: no verified Business Profile, no Search Console, an Analytics tag that quietly disappeared in the last redesign. Each is a small job. Together they decide whether someone searching for what you do ever sees you.

This is the service for that. We set up the four things Google actually uses: your Business Profile, Search Console, Analytics, and the pages themselves. We confirm each one is really working and keep them current. No jargon and no binder of charts, just a short monthly note on what changed and what we did about it.

What is a Google Business Profile, and why does a Seattle small business need one?

A Google Business Profile is the free listing Google shows when someone searches for your business, or for what you do nearby: the panel with your hours, phone number, photos, reviews, and a map pin. It is separate from your website, and for local searches it usually appears above the regular results.

Setting one up properly takes more than claiming it. The name has to match how your business appears everywhere else, the phone number has to be the same one on your website, the categories have to describe what you actually sell, and the profile has to be verified, because Google won't show an unverified listing. After that it needs tending. Wrong hours over a holiday or an unanswered review are the first thing a customer sees.

What does small business SEO include?

For a small business, SEO (search engine optimization) is mostly housekeeping that nobody did. Google Search Console shows which of your pages Google has indexed and which it couldn't. A page that isn't indexed can't rank, however good it is. Google Analytics shows where visitors come from and what they do once they arrive. The pages themselves need titles that match how people search, fast load times, and structured data that spells out your business details for machines.

What it isn't: buying links, stuffing keywords, or generating a page for every neighborhood in King County. Google's own guidance says those don't work. Newer fads get the same treatment: Google says it doesn't use llms.txt files, so we deleted the one on this site. The work that does help is a verified profile, clean indexable pages, and consistent business details. It's unglamorous, and it lasts.

What's the difference between a Google Business Profile and SEO?

They are two different systems that happen to share a results page. SEO improves how your website ranks in the regular results. Your Business Profile earns the spot in the map pack and the business panel. A complete profile sends people to the website and a solid website lends the profile credibility, but neither substitutes for the other. That's why a business with a good website can still be invisible to someone searching on their phone two blocks away.

Does this help with AI search results too?

Yes, and without any separate trick. A growing share of local searches are now answered by Google's AI features instead of a list of links, and those answers are assembled from the same index and the same Business Profile data. A verified profile, indexed pages that are eligible to be quoted, and consistent business details are exactly what gets a business named in them.

Ideal for

  • New businesses that want to be found from day one

How we work

  1. 1

    Check what Google sees

We search for your business the way a customer would, then look at what Google has indexed, what your profile says, and whether anything is blocking pages from search. You get a short list of what's missing or wrong.

  2. 2

    Set up and verify

Business Profile claimed and verified, Search Console connected with a sitemap, Analytics installed and tested on the live site, not just pasted into the code. We confirm each one is actually recording before we call it done.

  3. 3

    Fix the pages

Page titles that match how people search, speed fixes, structured data, and your business details (name, phone, hours, service area) made identical everywhere they appear.

  4. 4

    Keep it current

Hours, photos, and services updated; new Search Console errors fixed as they appear; a plain-language monthly note on where visitors came from and what changed.

What you'll get

  • Google Business Profile: setup, verification, and keeping hours, photos, and services current
  • Google Search Console: indexing, sitemaps, and fixing errors that keep pages out of search
  • Google Analytics: tracking where visitors come from and what they do, with plain-language reporting
  • SEO: page speed, structured data, and on-page content so the right searches lead to you
  • A short monthly report in plain language: what changed, what we did, what's next

FAQ

Do I need a Google Business Profile if I already have a website?
Yes, if customers find you by searching locally. To Google, your website and your Business Profile are different things. The website competes in the regular results; the profile is what appears on the map and in the business panel, with your hours, reviews, and directions. For most Seattle small businesses the profile is the first thing a customer sees and the website is the second.
I don't have a storefront. Can I still have a Business Profile?
Usually, yes. If you meet customers at their location or work from home, Google treats you as a service-area business: you verify with your real address, then hide it and list the areas you serve instead. We set it up that way, so your home address stays off the public listing.
How long until this makes a difference?
Setup takes a week or two, most of it waiting on Google's verification. A new or corrected profile usually starts appearing in map results within a few weeks. Website rankings move more slowly. Expect a few months of steady work rather than an overnight jump, and be wary of anyone who promises otherwise.
Will I understand the reports?
That's the point of them. Each month you get a short note in plain language: how many people found you, where they came from, what we changed, and what we suggest next. If a term needs explaining, we explain it. You shouldn't have to learn SEO vocabulary to know whether this is working.
